A couple of minutes after I designed the planter came the question – what am I going to fill it with. A 1.5 cubic foot bag of potting soil is $10 – and i will need about 2000 of those.
Aint’ gonna happen. I’m pretty sure i can talk my neighbors out of some horse poop though. That bubbler I mentioned with some water creates an ideal composter. The sawmill made a lot of sawdust. Free. my favorite price. Worms $50.
A little patience, about 4 months, and probably about 5 layers, i can probably enlist some worms to make my compost for somewhat less than $20k it would cost to buy potting soil.
